2019, It’s Over

It’s been a crazy year. Beyond that, even. And I can’t believe I’m looking at all the calenders, planners, and everything else that has dates and they say December 31st. It’s evening, actually. The truth is, I’m leaving the year with a bang. I was sick with the flu for a week and then today I found out I have a bad ear infection; which I went down to the Doctor for–and we don’t go to the Doctor.

It’s been a year of change, for sure. 😛

biggest changes

I went to college

This has to be on the list. I started college at 14 and I’m going back in the spring. Full-time dual credit student here! LeTourneau University was awesome and I can’t wait to go back. I learned a lot academically and also about college lifestyle and my future. Since I’m going into Psychology, I literally studied people. A lot. And my field is more and more interesting, no regrets.

I got a podcast

I got a podcast. And then later deleted it. I actually wanted a YouTube channel; which I later made and published. However, having a podcast wasn’t an experience I regret. It was fun being heard but not seen. And it set me up well for my YouTube channel.

I got an Etsy shop

This, too, has to be on here. And it’s doing okay! I made three sales in person and two online. Again, no regrets. I’ve learned a lot about marketing and getting the right product.

I got a YouTube channel

This is another recent life update, but yes. Thanks for watching them. They’re nowhere near perfect yet. I’m still learning about lighting, timing, and editing. However, I’m happy with how they are going and my views say that people are as well. 🙂

I participated a lot more in the blogging community

This includes comments and reposting. But, it also includes participating in giveaways. I think I participated in at least four this year and that’s a lot for me. In 2018, I barely participated in anything online. In fact, I didn’t. Earlier in the year I also participated in collaborations and the people I worked with were awesome.

The art walk

I had an opportunity to sell some things from my business. Those are my three sales that aren’t online. And I never would have done that in 2017 or 2018. Especially without my Mom. It was my friend and I, we made money, and we had fun. The art walk was another unforgettable night and I’m glad I took a step of faith.

STEP

I took a three-week camp in August. I could only talk to my Mom on Sunday for an hour. And that was crazy. I was 14 at the time and I thought I’m gonna die. Mom made me go; which is definitely a blessing. I don’t necessarily wanna jump up and go again, but I don’t regret Mom making me go. Or what I learned.

I went to Colorado

I went to Colorado to see a friend. Another great trip. I had to get back to Mom and my grandmother through the airport after my flight alone and I lived. It was great to be able to do something like with huge crowds and lots of noise by myself. It was a chaotic airport, but I made it. It gave me lots of confidence.

Hosted a writing tournament

I hosted a writing tournament with a friend. And it was awesome! Y’all’s stories were great. ❤ It was a big process with lots of people. Not just one round. Not a few people. It was a thing I’ve never done before until then. And it paid off!

No longer fearful

I still have my days and my times I’m scared of lots of weird things. Or events from my past come up and really mess with my head and I feel like I’m a seven-year-old-scared kid again. However, I’ve made a lot of leaps and bounds. Most fears have to do with the TV, and mine did, too. But a lot of them were rooted deeper and they had to do with actions. And people. With being able to get over those hurdles, I feel much better.

Change in followers

At the beginning of this year, I had a short circle of followers. I still had a bounty of awesome followers, but now my community is more widespread. And that’s the way I like it.
