The NaNoWriMo 20 Questions Tag

hello-there

It’s time for another tag! I am participating in NaNo this upcoming month; which I’m excited about. Wevegotpockets is also participating, and we are buddies. She also tagged me! Check out her blog post here.

And yes, if you’re wondering, I still like tags very much. I was nominated for a few, but then I got busy and was not able to do them. Sorry about that! But let’s get on with this one. 😉

TELL ME ABOUT YOUR NANOWRIMO PROJECT THIS YEAR! GIVE ME A BLURB!

Well…let’s see! My project is called Shadows in the Tide. It is about a girl and her (wonderful, amazing…) friend. Vanessa’s uncle goes missing and the cops seem to think it was a simple mistake, maybe he was hiking and got hurt. (He is old). But. But. But. Vanessa can’t seem to settle down with this argument. While her friend is highly intelligent in criminal studies and has read many Sherlock books and Agatha Christie novels, she doesn’t seem to think the cops thinking is off. With a little (okay, a lot) of persuasion Vanessa and her friend go off in search of her uncle.

To find the truth. And lots, lots of danger.

WHAT’S THE GENRE?

Thriller. Mystery. Young adult fiction.

Or is it? Okay, it is. Fine.

DESCRIBE YOUR MC IN THREE WORDS.

Daring. Persuasive. Intelligent.

WITHOUT SPOILERS, DESCRIBE YOUR VILLAIN IN THREE WORDS.

*smoke fills the room* Vile. Intimidating. Clever.

WHAT IS YOUR GOAL? (THE TRADITIONAL 50K? 20K? 5K? OR……. 100K?)

I’m going to go around 50,000 words.

IS THIS YOUR FIRST DRAFT? SECOND? THIRD?

Of this book? This will be my first draft.

ARE YOU STARTING A NEW PROJECT (OR DRAFT), OR CONTINUING AN EXISTING ONE?

This is completely new.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TIME TO WRITE IN THE DAY?

Hmm…late at night or early, early morning.

WHERE ARE YOU GOING TO WRITE?

Late at night, in bed. At my desk in my room. At the library at my school, and other various places.

COMPUTER OR PAPER?

I hope to have this one published, so I’m going to type it up.

NANOWRIMO IS A HUGE COMMITMENT!! HOW ARE YOU GOING TO MAKE TIME TO WRITE?

I am going to stop wasting time as much. And do some other things early so I can sit down and do it. I may read less, too.

ARE YOU GOING TO PARTICIPATE IN LOCAL OR ONLINE NANOWRIMO EVENTS? (E.G. KICK-OFF PARTIES IN YOUR CITY, WRITE-INS, VIRTUAL WRITING SPRINTS…)

Haha, no.

DO YOU WRITE FROM BEGINNING TO END OR SKIP AROUND?

Beginning to end. Most of the time.

PLANNER OR PANTSER? (OR PLANTSER?)

This one is planned, but I usually don’t write like that.

WHAT WILL BE YOUR GO-TO NANOWRIMO SNACK?

I like gum while writing, honestly. Don’t ask me why. Haha. And…nothing?

CHOICE OF CAFFEINE? (OR NO CAFFEINE?)

I love sweet tea, but we’re not doing that any more for health reasons. So, unsweet tea. 😀

ANY REWARDS FOR MILESTONE ACHIEVEMENTS? FOR FINISHING NANOWRIMO?

For finishing I will have my little victory dance, that’s about it.

SHARE A TIP FOR OTHER NANO-ERS!

I know the point of NaNo is quantity, but you still need good quality.

HOW ARE YOU FEELING ABOUT NANOWRIMO? (EXCITED?! NERVOUS!? TERRIFIED?!)

Excited. Nervous. Excited, etc.

SHARE AN AESTHETIC FOR YOUR NANOWRIMO NOVEL!

Hum, this was hard. I would use a painting my Mom did (<3) but I don’t think she would like that. 😛 But, that painting inspired it.

Hehe.

That doesn’t give many clues, does it? I hope you like it, because I will be giving updates weekly once I start NaNo! They will be posted on Monday, though, because I already have my Weekly Challenges for Sunday. (So, the first update will be the first Monday in November).

Nominees:

Hazel

I have no idea who all is into NaNo! So, if you want to do it and you’re in NaNo, go ahead! ❤

  2. Your NaNo novel sounds awesome! I hope you’re posting snippets…
I once attempted to write a novel in a month. (not for NaNo though.) I failed. I should have picked a summer month. I really think NaNo should be during the summer…
