Do You Believe?

cross.png

So, do you? We can say “Yes, of course!” but do we, really? I mean the true faith, not the it’s the way your parents believe so you kind of have to, too; but the true faith that you know what you believe and why you believe it-and what you are going to do about it!

The title…(amongst other things I said) may have sparked a memory from the movie Do You Believe? and I would recommend it!

It’s a great movie!

We need to believe for ourselves, not for others, not to make someone happy-but, truly, for us and we need to know why we believe the things we believe or it means nothing, and we aren’t really believing. I had to face this, this whole “Why do you believe that?” and I realized I did because my parents said that is what they believed…so, I had to look it up for myself.

It’s okay if you disagree with your parents on some things, you can have your own beliefs-just back them up, if you can’t, unbelievers won’t be helped, and they won’t have faith because you can’t back up anything you are saying, you can’t say “I just…” you have to know, girl.

Anyway, a quick faith note. Love ya!

This is very true, Ariana! Have a relationship with God is personal between you and Him. You won’t be able to experience that if you aren’t taking the time out to even spend time with Him. You hit some great points! 😊

You’re quite right: we each must believe for ourselves, we each must know what we believe (is that different from why we believe?). I just wanted to add: the deepest “why” cannot be told to anyone else. So, if you can say why you believe the deepest thing, the most important thing to you, you probably aren’t REALLY saying why, and if you cannot say why, it does not mean you do not know, or do not know why.

I think what we believe is different for why. For example: I believe lots of things, (too much for a comment), why I believe those things is the Bible, the personal experience, and evidence.
