Pursuing Who God Made You To Be…

pursuing who GOD made you to be.png

Our purpose is to fulfill our mission, our mission is what God says it is, and we are to fulfill that mission with passion and purpose.

What is your mission?

To be a writer?

A missionary?

A painter?

An architect?

A photographer?

A homeschooling Mom?

Maybe several of these things?

All of these jobs are important, but never think that you have to be a missionary to be one of God’s greatest children, if you are not called down that road, don’t go there.

I am called down that road, I personally believe that God has been telling me to for years, since I was 7-years-old, actually.

What are you called to do?

Be happy with what God calls you to do, you may need to start right now!

Example:

Becoming a writer.

You may need to start later.

A missionary.

If you are 11-years-old chances are you can’t go to Africa and give water, and the Water of Life to children and adults, but you can become a great writer, now! You can start becoming a good writer and search out what you need to be a great writer for God, that’s neat, isn’t it?! You could write fictional novels with God’s grace, or you may write informational books about God, who knows!

“For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.” ~Ephesians 1:4

I absolutely love that verse, He called us before we were born and before the earth was made. Just imagine that He knew our name, our personality, our calling, before the foundations of the earth were made!

How Can You Start Preparing Now?

Even if you can’t go to Africa, or start raising to kids so they can be great leaders for God, you can prepare your heart. Now, what do I mean by that? You can memorize the scriptures so when someone needs that verse in Jeremiah you can recite it, and not go for 10 minutes looking in your Bible for it!

Memorize your Bible so when people take it, because they might, you still have it deep within where they can never touch it, and that is your heart.

If you are going to be a photography and catch God’s amazing creation, take out your camera and just start, see how it feels!

If you are going to be a painter, get creative! What kind of painter are you? What do you like to paint? Where are you in your painting ability?

Answer these questions and talk to God about them!

I DOUBT Myself A Lot…How Can I STOP?

So, sounds like you need CONFIDENCE!

Listen:

Fear is rooted in lack of trust in God.

Doubt is lack of trust in the power of God.

It’s all bad! Don’t have it, get some confidence in your God and in you, He is powerful, and in Him, you can be, too!

Confidence in God and yourself makes the Devil flee, submit to God, girls, submit. (James 4:6). ~Look that up, it’s a great verse!

Now, don’t get mixed up and get too much pride, pride and confidence are different, you need to realize that you have a God whose ways are higher than yours, (also in the Bible), and you need to submit to Him, you are below Him, and He above you. Find a happy medium between confidence, self-doubt, and pride. God will help you find it, I promise, seek Him!

If you have any prayer requests, concerns, questions, comment, or just need someone to talk to, I am here, and available! ❤

I am 11 years old, and I am writing a fictional novel. I want to be an author, and I decided a few years ago that I might as well start now, or I’ll never start!
Wonderful post!

I believe that God has called me to be a writer, but I have my doubts. How can you tell when God is calling you to do something?
Sorry that this might be a hard question! Really great and inspiring post.

That’s amazing, I am going to be a writer, too. (I have many side-things I’m doing)! Haha. Thanks so much for asking and for your compliment. That’s tough. I think you can tell if it doesn’t compromise with anything the Bible says, (which is usually decisions). I think you need to pray about it and ask for a sign or something, but I definitely think you are meant to be a writer, girl.

I believe that God is calling me to the movie and media industries but I’m worried about going into sin (you know with Hollywood and stuff) and having to compromise my faith to land an acting gig! Praying for direction and I keep feeling this tug from God that movies is where I’m supposed to be. Thanks for this!

I totally understand, and that is an awesome profession, and I am sure you would be great at it. I thought I was going to be a director for years, now I am going to work at Artsview, (where I do my plays), and then become a lawyer. I think you are strong, and just to let you know you don’t have to be in Hollywood to make movies, so you can think about that. Thanks for commenting, and you’re welcome!
