Phrases That Make Me Mad:

So, here is the “fun” list of phrases that make me mad…

Everyone’s a winner!

Like seriously, if one kid won a race and the kid in 5th place is really sad, and you say “Everyone’s a winner!” what is that kid going to learn about trying harder, or perseverance? What about the kid that won? How do you think he feels, his winning is not “appreciated” because everyone won! I get encouraging your kids, and maybe that kid worked for hours on end, but he did not win, just help him get better, not say he is a winner.

She is going to the world one day, she might as well already know what is it like. (This is not an exact phrase).

Okay, so I have heard people say “let her look at that magazine, she might as well know what people are like now” Firstly, that magazine is not healthy for her imaginations, second, she is like 12, thirdly, what do you think she is going to think when she sees things degrading to women, or women not caring about themselves and totally being immodest? I am not saying say, “The world is beautiful and it is a great place full of Christian people who love God…” because a lot of people don’t sadly, but don’t just take away a good book and replace it with a naughty magazine.
