Outer Beauty & Inner Beauty:
So, first, what does the Bible have to say?
“Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious.” ~1 Peter 3:3-4
Peter, here, is talking about inner beauty, but, he is not saying don’t try and be pretty, like don’t fix your hair or dress nice, (or, for some people), put on makeup; I know this because of the Book of Ruth.
Let me explain a bit of background:
So, when a husband dies to keep on the line of the family the woman goes the next person in line if that person does not obey the Mosaic Law, (in the first five books of the Bible), and the next person in that line is to go through the same process…! Boaz, was the second one, the first guy turned down, by the way.
So, Naomi said ‘adorn yourself’ and go to him. So, adorning yourself is fine, (and not just for men), it is one of our ‘jobs’ to do as women, we are to represent Christ well with our attitudes and how we represent ourselves with our clothes and hair. 🙂 (If that makes sense).
But, needless to say, back to inner beauty:
Inner beauty is so very important, if we are not happy, peaceful, loving God, on the straight and narrow…(type things), that can hurt us, get out of that ‘hole’ and breathe the fresh air, and the freedom of God.
To end this argument, I will go here:
“But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” ~1 Samuel 16:7
Outer Strength & Inner Strength:
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” ~Isaiah 41:10
“For the Lord, your God is he who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory.” ~Deautornomy 20:4
There are many more verses. Our inner strength does not last, it will diminish, the world will not strengthen us…but, hurt us. God’s strength is never diminishing, it never hurts us, and it is awesome!
I am going to give y’all a link to all these verses which talk about God’s strength, I have not looked at them all, but the ones I read were amazing!
Thanks, guys! Have a great night/day, (depending on where you live)! 😀
