Hello wonderful girls! 😀 Zella is going to do BVW!! YAY! You go, Zella!
Hey girls! I was nominated by Ariana to do a guest BVW on her blog! If you want to see her guest post on my website, click here.
My verse that I chose is 1 Peter 3:15, and it says (per the NIV version) 15 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.
Most of you reading this right now are probably believers in the one true God. Me too! And unless we live in boxes, we have friends who don’t believe the same thing as us. Maybe they are Muslim or Buddhist or Hindu or Jewish or even atheist/agnostic. And maybe when they are around you, you are a little bit worried that they will ask you an impossible question that you can’t answer, or maybe you try hard to avoid talking about your faith because you are unprepared to say what you believe. Or afraid, but that’s a different topic for a different time….
Peter warns us that yes, there will be people who do not share our faith. And yes, there will be opportunities where we must have an answer for those who hold a different opinion that we do. We must not be afraid of these moments in our lives, but instead be bold and be ready. “Give an answer to everyone who asks…”
Let’s role play quick-like before we go. I like writing screenplays and dialogue XD, so here you goooooooo:
Friends: Hey Cameron, we notice that you and your family go someplace on Sunday mornings instead of sleeping in. Where do you guys go?
Cameron: To church.
Friend 1 (Macy): You guys go to church? *laughs* That’s sooooo overrated.
Friend 2 (Ann): So you’re like, a Christian? Those people who have like, no fun?
Cameron *ashamed*: Yes….
Macy: That’s so lame. (to Ann) I can’t believe we’re friends with a Christian.
Ann: I know! *both girls giggle*
Cameron (to herself): God, please help me to speak to these girls about you. 1 Peter 3:15, Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have…do this with gentleness and respect.
Cameron: I know you probably think being a Christian is super lame and not fun, but that’s so not true. Last week, my youth group had a nerf gun fight, and we even have a drama troupe, and we perform Bible plays to inner city schools and poor kids around the neighborhood. We have an Easter play next week. You guys should come and see. We have free refreshments.
(Macy and Ann glance at each other, a secret language passing between them)
Macy: *rolls eyes* Oh fine. But we’re only coming for you and the free food. Not for anything religious.
(Cameron is happy because she knows the girls can be transformed by hearing the Gospel message through her church play, and they will realize that Christians are super fun people)
See you guys next week for BVW! Well, you won’t get me, sorry, but Ariana will be presenting her usual flair.
Thanks, Zella, amazing thoughts! I think that is just so true, we should always be prepared to share! People miss out on God’s awesomeness all the time, and we, as Christians are the way to hopefully show them.
I think Zella did wonderful! Bye guys, and see you soon!
